At a recent rally, I heard the cries demanding justice for Dorian Murrell as attorney Malik Shabazz urged Black folks to turn out in mass for Tyler Newby’s Aug. I'll also celebrate our successes, hopes and dreams.Īnd, sometimes, I'll share thoughts of my own.Īs a Black woman in this country, I see some things based on the intersectionality of those identities. I plan to amplify voices typically left out and interrupt convenient but untrue narratives. We'll expose problems and give the public access to those responsible for fixing them. I'll be reaching out and hoping to hear from many, many more of you. What most excites me most is the ability to not only help shape a discussion, but also to bring together stakeholders who can help our communities. I want to facilitate public engagement.
